Rider of the Week

Our Rider of the Week is Michelle Hodgson of Ben-Adhem Arabians in Sussex, NB. The Ben-Adhem team had a very successful show season in 2000! Michelle is shown accepting an award at the Maritime Saddle and Tack/Springbrook Stables Horse Show in August. Rider of the Week.

Frankie Chesler Takes Top Two Spots in Jump Canada Series

At the Royal Horse Show, Chesler brought her final total in the Jump Canada Series to 191 points with Ravenna Z, her 11-year-old Hannoverian mare, to easily capture the win.  She also finished second with a total of 151.2 points with Sylver 2, a 12-year-old Holsteiner gelding that
Chesler only began riding this season. More on the Jump Canada Series...

The Musquodoboit Valley Horse and Pony club will be having their annual membership renewal meeting on January 08, 2001. Come for awhile, socialize, watch a video and meet some new people. Also, on February 12, 2001, we will be hosting a tack sale. Anyone who has any tack may come and sell and anyone can come and buy! Everyone is welcome and encouraged to come. Both events will be taking place at the Musquodoboit. Valley Forestry Complex in Middle Musquodoboit, NS from 7:00PM - 8:30PM. Email kaitieholman@hotmail.com for more information.

USET to Host Online Auction of Specialty Items

Just in time for holiday shopping, the United States Equestrian Team (USET) is hosting an online auction of three specialty items. The items include an avian replica of the historic USET stables, three USET 50th Anniversary scarves, and Breyer's porcelain "Courage" depicts a pair of athletes jumping over a cross country water jump. Horses in Unexpected Places

A few days ago, CBC Radio featured formerly Olympian (and Atlantic Canada rider), Rob Stevenson as he conducted a recent clinic in Prince Edward Island. Stevenson was a member of Canada's Eventing Team at the 1992 Games in Barcelona. As he conducted the clinic he stressed the mental preparation needed for both horse and rider. The radio article went on to say that Stevenson is taking a couple of years off from competition to set up a medical practice in New Brunswick. At the same time, he is focusing on teaching and giving clinics - he hopes to take riders to the US and Ontario to compete next year.
