New York Supreme Court Again Affirms AHSA Ban of Barney Ward

Following his release from prison, Ward had attended AHSA-recognized  competitions, despite the Hearing Committee's ban, to watch his son McLain Ward compete.  The AHSA then obtained a court order in New York issued by Supreme Court Justice Leland G. DeGrasse supporting the Hearing Committee's ban.  When Ward defied the Judge's ruling and again went on the grounds to spectate at an AHSA-recognized competition, the AHSA again sought relief, which was granted when Justice DeGrasse found Ward in contempt of court. Ward banned...

Is the AHSA correct in fighting to have Ward banned from attending its competitions? Should Ward be able to watch his son compete? Join the debate on our Riders' Forum!

Sweepings...

The New Brunswick Equestrian Association held a successful trade show and Stallion Evening at Saint John's Harbour Station on Saturday, October 28th. Nineteen horses were exhibited (all but two were stallions) of a wide variety of light and draft breeds, including such unusual horses as the Bashkir Curly and Icelandic. The trade fair included a number of breed and enthusiast associations, Co-op Atlantic, North Stream Farm Tack Shop, and AtlanticRider.com! Over 400 people attended this event... and plans are already underway to make it even bigger and better next year. Photos.
