2000 Jump Canada Provincial Coach of the Year Awards

Congratulations to Deanna Phelan (New Brunswick), Jana Hemphill (Prince Edward Island), and Gidget Oxner (Nova Scotia)! They have been awarded "Coach of the Year Awards" for their respective provinces. Details on the award and winners from other provinces.

Western saddle for sale. Used one show season, in excellent condition. Tan and black leather with burnt effect. Black suede 15" seat. New leather back cinch added. Will throw in pad and cinch as a package. No silver but very nice looking - would make a nice show or trail saddle. Very comfortable seat. $300. Dusty, is a very friendly and 'spunky' pony with a great personality and willingness to work. He is dark brown in colour with a white stripe on his forehead. I have spent a lot of time working with this pony and he would be a great pleasure pony for an experienced rider. Dusty is the most gentle and intelligent pony I have ever met. Would make an excellent teacher for a new owner. He is being ridden Western but clearly shows he has what it takes to go English. He is 12 hh and was foaled in 1987. He has no health problems that we know of, but does have an old injury (scar) on his right eye - he can see fine out of both eyes. 2000 FEI/ART Children's International Competition Final

The FEI/ART Children's Jumping World Final was held at the beautiful San Cristobal Polo and Equestrian Club, Santiago de Chile from 30 November to 3 December. Thirty-two children participated on borrowed; 16 Chile, two South Africa, two Brazil, one Paraguay, one Belgium, one France, one Columbia, one Venezuela, one Guatemala, one Lithuania, one United States, one Kingdom Saudi Arabia, one New Zealand, one Argentine, one United Arab Emirates. Canadian Eventing Team Announces 2001 Talent Squad

The Canadian Eventing Team has announced the athletes named to the 2001 Talent Squad, based on their 2000 competition results.  To qualify for the Talent Squad, competitors must have achieved a minimum top-third placing at a one-star three day event or higher.  The Talent Squad acts as a means of identifying up-and-coming horse/rider combinations who have displayed the potential to become future members of the Canadian Eventing Team. Horses in Unexpected Places

This week's horse in an unexpected place was masquerading as a mailbox! On a recent trip from Moncton to Fredericton, NB I noticed a mailbox with stirrups. The mailbox was designed to look like a saddle rack for a western saddle, complete with stirrups and horn!
