Wanted: Horse or pony for lease to committed, experienced rider. I am 5'3 1/2", small build and generally suited to all horses and most ponies. I am sixteen and have been riding, mainly hunter and equitation, for six years. I have leased two horses over a span of four years (I was with each horse for two years) and have won many awards in horsemanship and care. I am a caring and responsible leaser. The breed, age, discipline and size of the horse or pony are of no great importance to me, but I would prefer one that will jump. I live in Newfoundland and would like the horse or pony to be in the area of St. John's (Torbay, for example). Naturally, I am willing to pay for the lease. Renée Spurrell: rspurrellbomin@hotmail.com or 709-722-3575 (St. John's, NF)
Dew, pretty two-year old Newfoundland pony mare. Very personable and has been handled a lot but no serious training other than leading and such. 12.1 hh at the moment, should mature 13 hh+. The reason for selling is that the pony was for my daughter who now shows no interest in training or riding any more, unfortunately. Photos available. $1200. Horses in Unexpected Places
A Canadian horse troop is making history in London. They are the first mounted soldiers from outside Britain to ride in the Queen's Life Guard. Recruited from cowboys, frontiersmen and members of the North West Mounted Police in Western Canada, the regiment's origins as an irregular British unit led to its unofficial nickname, the Queen's Cowboys.
