Rider of the Week

Joey Sampson has been riding since the age of 18 months, and entered her first walk/trot class at age two. She has shown as far away as Nevada and showed English, Western, and Harness as a child. At age ten she became a student of Jim Durling at Equine Excellence and today concentrates mostly on Western disciplines. She is a certified CEF Western Level 1 Coach and spent the past year teaching and training at Middleton Meadows. Most weekends found her showing her QH gelding, My Secret Weapon (Jed), in performance and gymkhana classes and cattle penning. In her 'spare' time she was organizing and judging horse shows and participating in overnight trail rides. On November 1st she started working with Donald Fancy at Blue Hills Farm in Bridgewater. If there's life outside the horse industry, Joey hasn't discovered it yet. Rider of the Week.

We would love to have your suggestions for Rider of the Week. Please submit a photo and a description of the team you are nominating. This can be done by mail to: PO Box 7305, Riverview NB E1B 4T9 or by email: donna@AtlanticRider.com

"Funky," said one member of the Lyons team. Lyons went incognito in a pas de deux performance that was part of the evening's entertainment to emphasize to the sell-out audience that the horse world is no place for separatism and divisiveness.
