Hofstetter said eight-time Canadian Olympian Ian Millar advised him on his strategy for the jump-off. "Ian said, 'If you want to win, you must leave the jumps up'. I thought I was going around quickly, but I had the time faults. But it worked out perfectly because then Tracy thought she had to go fast. She had a rail at the fourth jump and pulled him up." Horses in Unexpected Places
The National Post reports that "Horses
seized again by SPCA." The February 17th issue of the newspaper contained
the following report:
Officials have seized 32 retired race horses from a farm where a similar
seizure occurred less than two years ago. The Society for the Prevention of
Cruelty to Animals initially grabbed the horses in March, 1999, and nursed them
back to health, over nine months. The horses were returned to Jacques Beausoleil,
the owner, who has denied abusing them. Mr. Beausoleil was found guilty of
criminal negligence on Dec. 6, 1999, and fined $500. He was allowed to repossess
his horses."
Should Mr. Beausoleil be allowed to own horses? Join
our discussion to voice your opinion!
