Atlantic Rider of the Week
Jacki Northrup and Mea Classico Duster - Jacki has been riding for 6 years, and has been riding at Butternut Stables for almost 3 years. She just started to show In Quarter Horse shows last year. This is "Jerry" and he is a 6 year old Quarter Horse that she leased and showed from Butternut. We will be seeing her in the show ring with her new horse "Sierra" in the Weanling Futurities this summer! Rider of the Week.

Sport Nova Scotia has just received information from NCI regarding a coaching internship program, offered through the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) & HRDC Youth Development Strategy. 20 coaching internships across the country will receive a subsidy of $12000 for an 8 month term. Equine Imports from Germany Suspended
Controversy regarding an imported warmblood stallion has caused the CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency) to suspend any further import permits for live horses or semen from Germany until further notice. Neil Ishoy Wins Grand Prix Dressage at Blainville Equestrian Park
Riding Andiamo Tyme, Ishoy bested a field of nine entries in the Grand Prix - Short competition, part of the Swarovski Canada World Cup Qualifier. Ishoy, a former three day event rider and husband of 1988 Olympic dressage team bronze medallist Cindy Ishoy, received a score of 68.54% from the panel of international judges for his performance with Linda Fowler's 10-year-old grey Oldenburg gelding. Gina Smith and Faust in a League of Their Own at Blainville Equestrian Park
After four years of sitting on the sidelines due to injury, the 14-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding, demonstrated the power and grace that have always made him a favourite with spectators and judges alike. In Saturday's Grand Prix - Short competition, Smith, a 1988 Olympic bronze medallist and Faust earned an even higher mark of 70%. Falsterbo Great Final Stop For Developing Rider Tour
The youngest team member, Frankie Chesler of
Orangeville, ON, was very successful in CSIO Falsterbo for the Canadians.
Chesler's excellent results started July 14, in the BJ Trophy Accumulator
competition. She placed second out of a competition of 31 horses aboard Sylver
II, a 13-year-old Holsteiner gelding. She finished the class in a time of
44.95 seconds, just 0.20 off the winning time of 44. 75 seconds set by Pius
Schwitzer of Switzerland.

Kelsey Rose (Standardbred) is a grandaughter of Jade Prince. She has never been raced on the track but is a very good mother and would make an excellent broodmare. She can be ridden English but needs and experienced rider. Great trail horse. (PEI)

Driving Speeds Into Blainville Equestrian Park
Drivers will compete with a single horse, pairs of two and, for the ultimate challenge, four-in-hand, where one driver is in control of four horses. Events will be held at the advanced and preliminary levels for horses as well as ponies. One of the most thrilling of all equestrian disciplines, the drivers must rely on the agility and accuracy of their horses as they guide them through a variety of obstacles. Record Number of Participants at Evergreen Horse Trials
The annual Evergreen Horse Trials were held in Hampton, NB on July 22, 2001. With 40 entries, 3 scratches and 37 competitors at the Trials, participation was at a record level for the show. It was a beautiful, warm day in Hampton with a light breeze. Details from the Evergreen Horse Trials...
