Need Hay?
The folks who bring us Atlantic Horse & Pony (as well as Rural Delivery) have responded to the need for hay in the Atlantic Region by creating a hay exchange. The information is included on their website, or you can call 1-877-354-3674. They ask that you leave your name, phone number, amount of hay or silage you have to sell or need for your stock, a brief description, price range, and if shipping is offered or required. There are other options for those wishing to obtain or sell hay! Check out AtlanticRider's classifieds for hay and bedding. It's a free service provided to anyone who wants to post - your ad will appear immediately. We also found The Hay Exchange, a site that provides a province-by-province (and state-by-state) listing of available hay.
Horse Quote for the Week
A horse is the projection of peoples' dreams about
themselves - strong, powerful, beautiful - and it has the capability of giving
us escape from our mundane existence.
~ Pam Brown
Horses in Unexpected Places
Are you my mother?!? A popular children's book asks the question... and now horse enthusiasts do too! A case is before the courts in Texas that alleges that the AQHA illegally restrains trade by limiting registration to one genetic foal per mare, per calendar year. The horses that are the subject of the plaintiffs' suit are embryo transfer foals, of which AQHA has registered a sibling during the same foaling year. Also included in the suit are offspring from those embryo transfer foals. Full siblings... but not twins... in the same year. Read the press release...
