Canadians Score a 1 - 2 Victory at the Prestigious Palm Beach Dressage Derby CDI***

Canadian dressage riders are enjoying much success south of the border this winter. At the recent Palm Beach Dressage Derby, CDI***/Y, held in Loxahatchee Florida February 28 - March 3, Shannon Dueck & Korona won the CDI*** FEI Grand Prix Freestyle with a remarkable score of 73.600%. Canadian Rider John Pearce Wins the $25,000 Ariat Grand Prix

John Pearce of Stouffville, Ontario, riding Air Jordan captured the $25,000 Ariat Grand Prix during the final week of the HITS Indio Desert Circuit. Pearce bested a field of fifty-four horse/rider combinations, and was the fastest of three double-clears in an eight-horse jump-off. Cathleen Calvert and Quietude finished in second place. Yvonne Losos de Muñiz Makes Clean Sweep of Wellington Dressage Classic

Held March 13-16, 2003, at the Palm Beach Polo Equestrian Club during the Winter Equestrian Festival, Losos de Muñiz won all three competitions at the Intermediare level – the Prix St. Georges, Intermediare I and Intermediare Freestyle.  Following her Prix St. Georges victory, Losos de Muñiz was the only rider to break 70% against an impressive international starting field of 29 entries in Saturday’s $1,000 Intermediare I competition.  Her remarkable score of 70.25% was earned for a performance that featured strong lateral movements in both the trot and canter work with her partner, Inatana Las Marismas, a 13-year-old bay Dutch Warmblood mare by Latano that she has been riding since January of 2002. 2003 Congress Judges Announced

The final list of AQHA judges who will officiate at the 2003 Congress has been announced. Fourteen judges will be used, which is an increase of two judges over previous years. The list includes Milt Alterman, Gigi Bailey, Tony Burris, Joe Carter, Patti Carter, Mark DeFreece, Leslie Lange,  Larry Little, Morgan Lybbert, Clay McLeod, Tom Reynolds, Bennie Sargent, Mark Sheridan and Karen Waters.

Canada’s Keean White Show Jumps with Success in Tampa

Following a spectacular Florida circuit competing in Jacksonville, Ocala and Palm Beach, Canadian show jumper Keean White of Cambridge, ON, rode his recent wave of success into Tampa for the CSI-W Tampa Bay Classic, held at the Bob Thomas Equestrian Center from March 19-23. Keean White Third in Tampa World Cup Qualifier

In the competition, which also acted as the final World Cup Qualifier for the U.S. East Coast League, White of Cambridge, ON, was the first rider to take to the grand prix ring from a field of 33 horse-rider combinations.  Riding Libidou, his 10-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare by Topas, White mastered the course despite being the first rider out of the gate, joining six other competitors in the jump-off.  Again the first to go, White repeated his initial faultless round in a time of 38.88 seconds.
