The Best of the Forum

We're pleased to see the forum becoming such a popular way for horse people to communicate - here's just one example:
I don't know if the first posting had to do with pony club or this discussion board but I got the impression it might be in regard to this board. All postings are only a matter of opinion and since there are a thousand ways to "skin any cat" there will be a thousand different opinions. That's what is so great about a discussion board...boards are to encourage a discussion. Discussions roam (and sometimes off topic just like a real life discussion)...and I would hope none of us are so stubborn or narrow minded as to not consider other ideas. Horses are a life long learning experience and no one nowhere will ever know it all. I get a big charge out of this board because of the far reaching discussions and it is by far one of the best on the net right now for that reason. I also don't consider disagreement to be bad or a fight....its an expression of various views and a sharing of information. What is missing with this type of communication is the body language that we humans tend to need to interrupt if a person is angry or sharing....the printed word comes across as very literal. I think this is a fairly friendly board and I love that we are all sharing our views. We don't all have to share the same view or ways of doing things. If we all agreed there would be no progress, change or growth in equine sport. I hope that no one ever gets too sensitive about any of my opinions...they are only mine and I am open to new info. There will always be people in life who take offence to the views of others and are intolerant of mistakes. I have been doing the horse thing for a great many years and I am still learning and i sure don't expect every one to agree with me. This board tends to be part of my entertainment and its nice to discuss things with other horsey folk. Join the discussion... or just take a look at what others are saying!

Horses in Unexpected Places

Is Ainsley Vince Canada's and show jumping's answer to Anna Kournikova? Now that the off-season has begun in the show jumping world, Ainsley Vince now finds herself in the middle of a different kind of competition. Ainsley first appeared in FASHION Magazine last year in a profile of Canadian equestrian athletes along with fellow Team riders Beth Underhill, Frankie Chesler, and Amy Millar.  Vince is now once again profiled in the November issue as one of Canada's foxiest celebrities. The contest closes December 15, 2001, and Jump Canada wants to encourage everyone to vote for our newly minted Champion. Get the details on Vince's nomination and learn how to cast your ballot...
