Canada Celebrates Horse Week!!

"Horse Week is one of our most important initiatives. The activities are designed to give more Canadians the opportunity to enjoy our magnificent friends. While activities may vary across the country from yee-haw to tally-ho, the theme always will be fun," remarked Equine Canada President, Dr. Edward Kendall. "This will be our week to show all Canadians that the horse remains a strong cultural symbol from coast to coast." Details about Horse Week...

Horses in Unexpected Places

Did you know...
The reason that all the horses in the Lippizzaner show are stallions? Apparently mares have a different centre of gravity and, therefore, can't perform all of the maneuvers that stallions can. Historically, mares were valued as excellent carriage horses for the aristocracy while stallions were used as saddle horses!
