|
February 6, 2004, Richmond, British Columbia ---Today Equine Canada and all Provincial Associations kicked off 'Horse Week 2004' at the annual Equine Canada Convention in Richmond, BC. This year 'Horse Week' will be celebrated from May 31 to June 6 and will involve a series of fun and informative activities to celebrate Canada's thriving equine industry. Dr. Edward Kendall, Equine Canada President said, "Horse Week has been developed to support a number of important Equine Canada and Provincial Association objectives. Raising awareness for equine activities, providing a fun and enjoyable experience for the equine community, creating an industry-wide promotional opportunity, and increasing the understanding of who Equine Canada and the Provincial Associations are all important priorities." Don Adams, Equine Canada Executive Director remarked, "Horse Week is one of our most important cross-Canada initiatives. While activities will vary across the country during the week, all horse disciplines are teaming up to celebrate and profile the value of our relationships with Horses in Canada." Planned 'Horse Week' activities include regional and national events, Ride & Drive Day on June 6 with celebrations happening across Canada, and a national Kids Contest. The Horse Week poster, highlighting local events, will be displayed across the country. |
