Training with Lindsay Grice

Who is Lindsay Grice?

Coach, judge, equine behaviorist and columnist, Lindsay Grice helps riders win the Mind Game. Whether coaching at the in gate, teaching in a classroom or speaking to a Horse Expo audience, she uses the keys of equine and sports psychology to teach riders how to speak so their horses are listening!

Lindsay Grice knows first hand that despite having a trunkload of tack and technical skills, a ride can be won or lost inside the rider's and horse's brain.  As someone who’s been there – forgotten courses, made training mistakes, endured a hollering coach, felt the competition jitters and made it to the winner’s circle, Lindsay shares the keys she wishes she’d known!  Describing the “whys’ behind every “how”, she zeros in on where a winning ride begins – in the horse’s and rider’s mind.

As a lecturer in Equine Behavior and 25 years experience as a professional coach and trainer, Lindsay says she loves putting complex principles of horse training and competing into simple steps riders can understand. “ I equip my students with a game plan for the training ring, warm up ring and show ring that I wish I had as a junior rider.

Her students have won at major shows in the United States and Canada.  Lindsay continues to actively compete in both english and western events, specializing in the American Quarter Horse Association circuit, and is still frequently found in the winner’s circle.

Lindsay is a certified Equine Canada coach as well as NCCP (multi sport) coach with training in sports psychology.

She travels throughout North America judging horse shows, teaching riding clinics and speaking to horse associations.

She’s made frequent appearances on television and radio, speaking about horse related issues.
