Over $1000 raised for the Storey family at the Princess Louise Park Show Centre during the Equine Review Showcase
Sussex, NB – Exhibitors at the equine trade show donated merchandise and services for an auction held on Sunday, May 6th, during the Maritime Quarter Horse Association’s Equine Review. Over $725 were given to Harry, Donalda and Holly Storey, the local family that recently lost their home and barn to a devastating fire. “We gave them $585 (CAN) and $140 (USD),” said Shonda Wilson, President of the MQHA.
Meanwhile, Donna Sears, owner of www.AtlanticRider.com, raised over $400 in her booth for the family. She gave away scoops of ‘Hoof Prints’ ice cream and accepted voluntary donations which totalled in excess of $400 over the two days of the event. The business woman, marketing professor and equine enthusiast has added a spot on her website where donations may continue to be made for the family.
The Storey family is well known throughout the
Maritimes for their magnificent teams of Percheron horses and their generous
support of their community.
