Rider of the Month:
December 2004

Hillary Foster and Smooth Move

Hillary Foster and Smooth Move (aka Shala), of Mount Uniacke, NS have been very busy showing in Large Hunter Pony, Pre-Training Level Eventing, and 3' Jumpers on the MGPA circuit.

Hillary has been quite successful in all her endeavours proving how versatile
her pony is. She recently attained her C2 Pony Club Testing level riding
Shala.

In addition Hilary also rides Mayday - a 16.2hh AngloArab owned by Julie
Ansems in Jumpers and Eventing. Mayday and Hilary won 1st place at Foshay
Farm in the 3'3" Training Division - her first effort at that level. They
also placed a close second in the 3' Pre-Training Division at Strathgartney
Horse Trials in PEI earlier this year. She and Mayday also earned some good
ribbons in the 3'3" Jumper classes.

Hilary also "catch" rides some inexperienced ponies to get them around their
first course of jumps in the show ring. Not an easy job! And most recently
Hilary "stepped up to the plate" to help make the EC Medal Class happen at
the EEMG Horse Show - competing over a course of 3'6" jumps on a horse that
she'd never ever sat on until about 10 minutes before the class - she placed
3rd. As coach Kevin Crosby so bluntly stated "she's moving up."
