Rider of the Week - Katherine MacPherson

Sierra Thibault and Dallas

Sierra Thibault turned 11 in October, 2006. She started her riding adventure at Pine Hill Equestrian Centre in Lawrencetown, taking lessons there for almost two years. When she was about to turn 9, she and her bay pony 'Dallas' met and became forever friends. That's them together at the CHAPS show this summer in Milford (Sierra is the one wearing the blue chaps!). So far, Sierra and Dallas have taken home a couple of dozen ribbons riding both English and Western. Dallas is turning out to be quite the pole bending and barrel racing keener. Sierra also has a weanling paint filly named Secret that she hopes will become a winning pole bender and she has ridden her mother's Palomino Quarter Horse at Salmon River. She also has a new horse, his name is Astro and he is an approved Le Cheval Canadian Sire. Astro is trained to harness and saddle and behaves himself like a true gentleman for his rider. All those horses keep Sierra busy training for next summer! She is looking forward to seeing all her friends back in the ring soon.
